This alluring 1950's era German Modernist bracelet has been very well preserved. According to Modern Silver, "Perli Werkstatte, founded by Martha May in Schwäbish-Gemund in 1922, switched from manufacturing faux pearl jewelry to cloisonné enamel in 1935. Perli pieces were exhibited in the 1937 Paris Exposition Internationale. Matte enameled silver or copper jewelry for men and women were signed "Perli", sometimes "handarbeit" (hand-crafted.) The counter-enamel could be glossy black or speckled grey." Each square link is enameled with a unique geometric pattern of colored shapes in a distinctly modernist style. Colors including greens, bronzes, browns and black. The bracelet is sliver plated over copper and signed Perli on the tongue of the clasp. The backside of the bracelet is all enameled black. Measuring 7 inches long and 1 1/8 inches wide. It is in excellent condition and is ready to wear.
